2019 Scholarships, Contests, and Awards

IPAC Canada and our valued scholarship and awards sponsors are pleased to announce the following opportunities:

Through the generous support of Diversey, Inc., 20 IPAC Canada members received scholarships to support their attendance at our 2018 annual conference in Banff. The 2019 Diversey Scholarship guidelines and online application are now available by clicking here. Deadline for applications: January 31, 2019.

In collaboration with Sage Products (now part of Stryker), IPAC Canada is able to offer a scholarship(s) for a candidate(s) from an under-resourced country to attend the 2019 annual conference. The criteria and application form for the Sage International Attendee Scholarship are available by clicking here. Deadline for applications is November 30, 2018.

In addition, Sage also sponsors the Moira Walker Memorial Award for International Service. This Award honors an individual or group that has demonstrated extraordinary efforts to bring about change or improvement related to infection prevention and control in parts of the world that are under developed or under resourced. Nomination Forms and Criteria can be found here. Deadline is March 31, 2019.

In collaboration with Class 1 Inc., IPAC Canada is able to provide a patient, a patient family representative, or a patient caregiver associated with a provincial or national Patients for Patient Safety organization to attend the 2019 annual conference. The criteria and application form are available by clicking here. Deadline for applications is March 1, 2019.

Ecolab Poster Contest 2019 - an annual poster design contest sponsored by Ecolab and supported by an IPAC Canada chapter (IPAC Northeastern Ontario for 2019) to give ICPs an opportunity to put their creative talents to work! The winning poster design is professionally designed and printed for use each year during National Infection Control Week. This year's theme is 'Infection Prevention and Control in Every Season'. Find details here. Deadline for submissions is January 31, 2019.

In collaboration with 3M Canada, IPAC Canada established the Champions of Infection Prevention and Control Award in 2009. The annual award recognizes IPAC Canada members who have demonstrated innovative initiatives to prevent infection, raise awareness, and improve the health of Canadians. The nomination may also be for lifetime achievement. Nomination Form and Criteria can be found here. Deadline for nominations is March 1, 2019.
