CPHO Spotlight Report on Eliminating Tuberculosis in Canada

As we mark World TB Day on March 24th, now is the time for collective action that will guide the elimination of TB in Canada. Tuberculosis (TB) is the epitome of inequity in public health. The key to achieving TB elimination in Canada lies in reducing the disproportionate impact of the disease on Indigenous peoples, in particular Inuit, and on foreign-born individuals. This can only be achieved through collaborative action. Ultimately the solution to this complex social disease will be driven by the communities themselves with sustained support from many players including governments, academics, experts and other partners.  The report by Dr. Theresa Tam was developed through strong collaboration with a variety of partners, experts and stakeholders, particularly the Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami, Assembly of First Nations, and Métis National Council.
