Social Media 101

 

EVERY ATTENDEE MUST REGISTER INDIVIDUALLY. 

In the event that more than one participant is enrolled from one location, i.e. a group setting (several attendees in one room), the full title of the organization attending must be spelled out when that group is logging in to the webinar. 

All participants in an educational webinar must log into the webinar room with their full name.

CERTIFICATION POINTS

IPAC Canada Members can now receive an education credit towards their CIC® recertification by attending IPAC Canada educational webinars.

This is to comply with recertification requirements of the Certification Board of Infection Control (CBIC). CBIC has approved the use of a generic certificate of completion which will be available for download at the end of the webinar.

1 IPU per hour is approved for IPAC Canada webinars.

The Certificate will be available to all participants to download.

Description

Join us for a brief history and introduction to social media. We will review in detail the major Social Media platforms (Facebook, Twitter etc.) and discuss their relative audiences, content options, and how to register. Lastly, we will discuss the importance of trustworthy, accurate content on social media, and how we can all be responsible users and content generators.

Kelsey Houston

KELSEY HOUSTON is an Infection Control Practitioner, serving for the past four years at Princess Margaret Cancer Center in Toronto, Ontario. Kelsey holds a Bachelor's of Science Honours in Life Sciences from Queen's University, and Masters of Public Health from the University of Guelph. Kelsey has been serving as the Social Media Manager for IPAC Canada since 2019, and as the Co-Chair of the IPAC Canada Oncology and Transplantation Interest Group for the past year.
