The IPAC Program Audit Tool (PAT©) is designed for internal auditing of a health care organization’s IPAC program, to verify that the IPAC program standards are being met. The PAT© may also be used as part of an organization’s ongoing quality improvement program and/or to prepare for external audits (audits carried out by outside agencies such as Accreditation Canada). The audit tool has been condensed into a standalone workbook for the convenience of the auditor.

HandyMetrics and IPAC Canada have partnered to transform the IPAC Canada Audit Toolkit into an easy-to-use App. The App is free to members who are affiliated with an organization that provides healthcare directly to patients in Canada.

Erika Susky

IPAC Canada gave me the opportunity to attend my first conference, and I have not looked back since. The networking does not only allow me to connect with many people in the field and have fun, but it also allows me to discuss challenges and receive support when times are rough. I have a strong network of professionals in many organizations that are willing to lend me their ears and make recommendations.

For those both in the field and aspiring to enter the field, I highly recommend joining IPAC Canada to connect and network with passionate and knowledgeable professionals across the country. A profession is its strength based on how members bolster and support each other. IPAC professionals in leadership roles should lead by example and become IPAC Canada members if they are not already.

I learned so much about myself and about leadership through the IPAC Canada mentorship program. My mentor has been a beacon to me.

I love science and microbiology. IPAC Canada has given me many opportunities. One opportunity is connecting with the IPAC scientific community as the associate editor of the Canadian Journal of Infection Control (CJIC), and the other is teaching people across Canada about the science of infection prevention. As my teaching becomes more common, I feel blessed. Thank you for allowing me these opportunities.
