My experience thus far with IPAC as a new board member, has been very rewarding. I was surprised to see such a wonderful representative group from across Canada. The participants I have interacted with have been professional, knowledgeable and delightful to work with in the past few months since my appointment.
As a semi-retired health care professional I am alarmed at how much I didn’t know about topics related to the mandate of IPAC, including but not limited to AMR issues.
It is apparent that there is a strong need from more health care professionals and the public in general to become more informed on these topics. A change in policies and practices is imperative in order to make a difference in this critical area of our Health Care system in Canada.
It is truly an honour to be a member of this group and to help our country be stronger, more informed and generally healthier.
