Antimicrobial resistance and use of antibiotics in Canadian long term care facilities

Infections caused by antimicrobial resistant organisms (ARO) are a growing concern in long term care facilities, and little is known about their prevalence in this setting. The Public Health Agency of Canada conducted a national survey in long term care facilities to examine this issue. Over 130 facilities participated and this will be first time the results are presented. The webinar will showcase key findings on screening practices, infections, colonisation with ARO, and antibiotic use.
