IFA launches consensus statement Uniting Diverse Groups to Improve Adult Influenza Vaccination in Canada
The International Federation on Ageing (IFA) together with Canadian patient and advocacy organizations represented at a recent expert meeting today release a consensus statement toward raising the awareness and importance of adult influenza vaccination. Improving influenza vaccination uptake rates in at-risk population groups such as older people and those with chronic diseases are crucial, considering the increased risk of morbidity, mortality and prolonged recovery from influenza due to underlying frailty.

2020 Sage International Attendee Scholarship
In collaboration with Sage Products LLC (now part of Stryker), IPAC Canada is able to offer a scholarship(s) for a candidate(s) from an under-resourced country to attend the 2020 IPAC Canada National Education Conference (Winnipeg, Manitoba, May 3-6, 2020).
This scholarship is awarded to assist in travel and attendance costs which the winner(s) would otherwise not be able to afford. Please circulate this information to any colleagues in under-resourced countries. A list of qualifying countries can be found here.

The Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology Inc (CBIC) is seeking applications for non-Board members to fill open positions on the two Test Committee subcommittees: Item Writing Committee, and Item Review Committee, for 2-year terms (Jan 2020 to Dec 2021).
