National Consultation Webinar: Developing an STBBI Indicators Framework for Canada

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 28th, 2019, 2PM EST

The following information is being distributed on behalf of the Public Health Agency of Canada

This webinar will be provided in English, with simultaneous interpretation in French

Rates of certain STBBI continue to rise in Canada, and global momentum to eliminate new infections is building. The monitoring and evaluation of progress towards achieving goals established globally and outlined in the Pan-Canadian Framework for Action (2018) is key to supporting public health action towards eliminating STBBI as a public health threat. An expert-based, jurisdictionally-representative task group is developing an STBBI Indicators Framework for the Canadian context.

Through this webinar, Geneviève Tremblay (Public Health Agency of Canada) and Dr. Jason Wong (British Columbia Centre for Disease Control) will provide the background on the Pan-Canadian Framework for Action; discuss the development of indicators; and seek input into the development of indicators that would be meaningful to communities and support the ability to measure progress against the Framework for Action. This webinar will be an excellent opportunity for stakeholders across the country to provide input or feedback on this important piece of work-in-progress.
