Ecolab Poster Contest

An annual poster contest is sponsored by ECOLAB and supported by an IPAC Canada chapter to give infection prevention and control professionals an opportunity to put their creative talents to work by developing a poster that visualizes the Infection Prevention and Control Week theme. 2026 National Infection Control Week will be from October 19-23.

2026 ECOLAB POSTER CONTEST

THEME: IPAC: Powered by You/ PCI : propulsée par vous

DESCRIPTION OF THEME: Infection prevention isn’t driven by policies or equipment—it’s powered by people. While Infection Control Professionals (ICPs) play a critical role, they can’t be everywhere at once. That’s why the actions of all healthcare workers matter/ La prévention des infections ne repose pas uniquement sur des politiques ou des équipements : elle est propulsée par les personnes. Bien que les professionnel·le·s en prévention et contrôle des infections (PCI) jouent un rôle essentiel, iels ne peuvent être partout à la fois. C’est pourquoi les actions de tous les membres du personnel de santé sont cruciales.

This theme celebrates the essential IPAC contributions of every healthcare worker. Whether they are promoting best practices or consistently applying them—like hand hygiene, appropriate use of personal protective equipment, and safe patient and resident interactions—their commitment is what truly safeguards patients, residents, their colleagues, and the community./ Ce thème met en valeur les contributions indispensables de chacun à la PCI. Qu’iels soient en train de promouvoir les meilleures pratiques ou de les appliquer de manière constante—comme l’hygiène des mains, l’utilisation appropriée de l’équipement de protection individuelle et des interactions sécuritaires avec les patients et les résidents—leur engagement est ce qui protège réellement les patients, les résidents, leurs collègues et la communauté.
“Powered by You” is a call to personal pride and shared responsibility. It recognizes that infection prevention is a collective effort, and that real change begins with each individual./ « Propulsée par vous » est un appel à la fierté personnelle et à la responsabilité partagée. Il reconnaît que la prévention des infections est un effort collectif, et que le véritable changement commence avec chaque individu.

PRIZE : The winner will receive a complimentary registration to the 2026 National Education Conference (Toronto, May 24-27) or a $500 CAD cash prize.

REMINDER: Posters should have meaning for the public as well as all levels of staff across the continuum of care. The poster should be simple and uncluttered, with strong visual appeal and minimal text. Judging will be based on overall content. Artistic talent is helpful but not necessary. The winning entry will be submitted to a graphic designer for fi al production. Your entry will become the property of IPAC Canada.

• Electronic file must be in Word or PDF format only
• Files smaller than 5MB in size are preferred
• Emailed poster size must fi t the print dimensions of an 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of paper
• Name, address, email address and telephone number must be included in the submission email
• Do NOT include identifi ers on the poster itself
• Submissions may be in English or French
